Stocking Jeans & Blue Fur

 Hey guys

It has been ages since I've written anything here. The post-married life then shifting our house completely took away my time. But, no excuses now. I am back for good. I will try to post more regularly but no promises.

How are you all doing? I will visit each of your blogs from the past blog comments and here. It's the holiday season and we should be thankful that we are healthy. Which reminds me, how are things at your end w.r.t. the pandemic? Did you get tested positive? I'd like to know if you are doing fine. I hear COVID takes a toll on your health. I hope you are doing well.

The world has progressed to microblogs like on Instagram and Facebook. While I enjoy my time over there but I do miss blogging. Books that I can hold & feel (smell?), holding on to my childhood toys or clothes, putting the same Christmas tree each year - these are some of the things I enjoy doing.

I guess what I'm saying is, I enjoy it over here.

For my first post after 1.5+ years, I chose this outfit. A very interesting thing about this outfit - It's very cold over here in Delhi (4°C) plus the cold air of our new house isn't helping. If you have a good memory than you might remember my several blog posts where I talk incessantly about how I hate winters. I mean read these posts please. My love for summers is clearly expressed.

Oh, so these pair of jeans were skinny and it's impossible to wear a leg warmer (which I always do in winters). Hence, I decided to wear something over them - Voila! These knee-high leg warmers just saved the day and got me to write this post. Don't they just gel-well with my jeans?

Why I am thankful for 2017 + iphone case design

Hi people

I don't know about you people but 2017 has been a very thoughtful year for me. It was a very well planned year for me. Oh, I didn't plan for the year but vice-versa

In this post, I will get a little personal. I don't know if you can take it without judging me or not but, I will take my chances :)

But first, let's talk about the second part of this blog post. This iPhone case design is my second collaborated item with an eCommerce website. Check out the first one here (Sherlock Holmes fans would love it).

There is no second of a doubt here that there is a craze for iPhone cases in the market. If you are a brand or sell at a flea market, if your store doesn't have an iPhone case design then you are not ready for the business!

Why I am saying this is because I had literally 100 options and it was so darn hard to choose the design, material, color and so on. Now let me tell you that I had a moment with an iPhone case which didn't disappear. I kept coming back to it for the half hour I spent on Zaful.

Hands down, Zaful is the BEST site currently, for whatever shopping cravings you have. I'm not just saying that because I'm associated with them. In not a single article have I praised them (I didn't need to). But, look at the variety, speedy delivery (another product just reached within 10 days of ordering!), great customer service and quality.

This iPhone cover is made of poly-carbonate, looks super elegant, the design is still in place (been using it for 15 days now) and doesn't have sharper edges so putting it on or removing it, isn't a problem.

Let's quickly talk about the 5 things I am thankful for:

1) Good health - as many of you know how crazy I am about Cassy Ho's Pilates because it and she make me so happy that I cannot put into words. Not only that but also, this time I was able to fully decide for once and for all, whether or not I want to include certain food products in life or not. Bye-bye sugar! So I am pretty thankful for eliminating stuff and including Almond Milk (my love).

2) Development areas - I found out that I really need to work on my anger management issues among other things. I have not done anything about that yet but, I have started to skip getting angry at someone or something. I skip the 1st, 3rd, 5th, etc. times I want to get mad at. It's really temporary but it's working for now.

3) Love - how can Akanksha not be thankful for this. I am in a happy place right now. Putting efforts and reaping benefits; the relationship has never been more kind. Thank you!

4) Standing up - I feel like giving a separate pointer for this topic. This year made me realize that no matter who is in front of me, personally or professionally, I need to stand up for myself. Even if I have to dishonor my promise in point #2, I have to stand up for myself. It has totally worked on my side and am very much comfortable with myself for yelling at people who have wronged me.

5) Job - This deserves to be on the list. We spend more than half of our awake time, working. If we don't like our job then we might as well not get up in the morning. Until July, I was miserable. I hated my job, hated the people and was just waiting to get ANY job. My family and friends were totally against the idea of me quitting a well-paying job but, I finally got it.
Mental health + Job satisfaction > Money + Power

I am happy with my job now. Not afraid of Mondays anymore! :D

Enjoy the rest of the article.

5 Smarter ways to dress faster in the morning: Fall 2017

Hello people!

This is my first fall post of 2017. So excited to share this post with you.

I was on the lookout for a new location for my blog pictures. So fed-up of greenery in my posts. Nine out of my ten blog posts are usually in a green backdrop- park, garden, trees, etc. This time, I literally went outside for a change, only to be disappointed with more greenery (so ironic!). But, I guess this greenery is different from the rest of my posts right? Let me know in the comments below if you seriously would like to see me in some other backdrop for a change! Also, let me know if you don't mind the greenery :)

I had a hard time picking this outfit. I honestly am that girl who can confidently say, 'I have enough clothes'. I actually don't need more clothes. Let me re-phrase the statement. I actually don't want to spend anymore on clothes (bloggers say Aye!). I spend like how; on kiehl's products and any healthy food. Like crazy! So clearly I am not any better off than you guys.

So, anyway, I had a hard time pairing this Rosegal bag with anything I owned and not shown enough of here. Instagram, pinterest, and tumblr were not of much help either. In moments like these, I do these things to put myself out of misery.

So if you want to know how to decide what to wear if you feel like you don't have anything to wear, read along.

5 ways to decide an outfit, in the morning:

1) Pick a reference color- Easy for me, I had this pink bag as my reference color. To make it easy for you, wear the first color that comes to your mind which you haven't worn for 3 days. As silly as it sounds, if you're staring at your cupboard for 10 minutes, it's better to be silly. It can be a color of a bag, shoes, or a dress. If nothing works, black. Feel black, wear black, drink black?

2) Pick your first garment- Next, I pick my first garment. This step always depends upon the state of my mind, the weather, status of legs/arms and the time of the month! That's right, people. If it's super hot outside, I'll never pick a pair of jeggings or other polyester materials that would make me uncomfortable. So, it's always the pants first. If I have to decide a dress then this 'first garment' changes to 'mood'. Lace: work with lace. Don't have one? Get a lace top or a dress and then lace it. It never gets you wrong. Check out these gorgeous women dresses for a quick lace pick.

3) Pattern- If you are feeling it then let your print decide your outfit for you. I personally love stripes but you can pick any print you have. Florals are a magical contrast this time of year. I see plaid making a come-back. Just make sure to play neutral or one color, rest of the outfit.

4) The third one- If you're a jeans and t-shirt kind of a person and almost always has a problem deciding to look different with this outfit then, do this- pick a happy color for the third color. You must always wear three colors in your entire outfit (including accessories), unless you are in New York's Times Square then wear whatever the heck you may want. White tshirt with blue denims? Throw red accessories with it. My favorite red family color is burgundy though!

5) Odd pair- If nothing works, I pair odd colors or garments together. Like in these pictures, who knew peach could work well with meadow green? Just visualize an outfit in your mind and if it seems fine, you can definitely lift it with accessories.

Clearly not green!

White with sea pastels

I've always believed in the saying, 'Age is just a number'

Don't know who said that but I guess they were talking about me. Always young at heart and never boring. That's 100% unfiltered me; given that I'm comfortable around you.

Today I am going to talk about a topic which is slightly uncomfortable to talk about and definitely weird to follow- exposure. No, not talking about exposure to a disease, sunlight or career. I'm talking about physical exposure (or exposing). These loosely placed letters, make way for an even loose concept wherein 'femininity' would soar up in this post (not by me but by others reading it).

I am all about wearing what you want, speaking your mind, eating puffy breads and cheesy onions. But, when it comes to doing all those things for myself, I have a thing or two to say about it. Now those women and men who cannot keep an open-mind or have to pass an opinion about everything, please refrain from reading the post. You can share your opinions among yourselves but if you have something very genuine and strong comment then go ahead and comment below.

I've been born and brought up in Delhi and completed my masters in Mumbai so that's 20 odd years vs 2 years. But the 2 'adult' years should definitely account for more matured thinking and better perspective, right?

I will not begin the Delhi vs Mumbai debate here (although we know who would win).
I will talk about the kind of outfits the two women wear in these cities. Now these women could have been born in respective cities or switched locations.

Anybody from outside of Delhi, who visits it, has two things to say about Delhi women- hot/beautiful with a loud dressing sense. This is a general picture and does not talk about every Delhi woman but yes, this is somewhat true. We love to wear bold colors, makeup and jewelry. It sometimes looks funny and we could use a class or two.

Now, about Mumbai..
When I was waiting, with my friends, for my cab at the Mumbai airport, I saw a girl wearing a black printed blouse. She had her back against us so we couldn't see her face but we could tell she must be really pretty, for her dressing sense and great shoes. My friends would agree with this. Now, let me tell you, none of my friends present there were Mumbaikars.

Anyway, when she turned walked towards us, we were stunned at the sight! That printed blouse was suddenly lacking any print in the front and was, well, see-through!
She had the decency to wear at least a black lingerie but the point is far from the color-coordination she kept in mind.

Now, I don't know about other girls or women who decide to wear red lingerie underneath a white top, or even purple bra-straps with a yellow tube top. Hey! I'm not judging. But could you at least tell us what are you trying to say?

Yes! Your outfit can say a lot about your personality. So is it, that you are color-blind or maybe you were suddenly inspired by a mandarin duck? These women, are well-spoken, seem intelligent, and on occasions, also look nearly perfect.

But, all I want to say, a bralette is a bra and so is a balconette and whatever is sold online today! Sorry for the bizarre topic and unsolicited advice, but it physically hurts to see such striking combination of colors and visible bra straps hanging callously from gorgeous blouses and dresses.
White for white, black for white.

Wear what you like but know what looks good at public spaces on roads and what is meant for beaches :)

Would love to read the suppressed hate comments and genuine remarks about my thoughts.

Now about my gorgeous skirt from zaful. This skirt, is a perfect fit for any beach party. The calm of the blue was so pleasing to my eyes that I had to get this one. I decided to pair it with the classic white shirt and threw in my favorite tassel mint stole.
Just to give it a Sonam Kapoor spec(y) look, I tied my hair in a messy fish-tail braid and these black-framed cat-eyed clear glasses.
