Photowall: What are you going to hang on your wall today?

 Hello everyone

How are you doing today? I'm extremely happy to be writing today's article. As you know how much I love New York which is evident from my trip there back in 2015. Even before I visited, it had been my dream city which was fulfilled during my college days.

Little did I know what great things were waiting for me. I was approached by Photowall to write an article for them. I visited their website and started scrolling through their VAST portfolio.

I saw the famous art words 'London New York Paris' and got this brilliant idea of having a New York based photograph in my living room.

As you are aware that I recently moved to a new place. The main living room's wall lacked a painting and this was the perfect opportunity to have a little piece of New York with me, always.

I scrolled 500+ canvas prints just on New York and wanted to have them all :D

There was a time when I was confused between the below two:

when I saw what I actually got:

Just look at this glorious seven of 7 NYC - There's Empire state building, the city life, the taxi, streets and so much more. One look and I fell in love.

I quickly added it to my cart and it arrived within a week! I got it framed and it's sweetly hanging in my living room now. From Sweden to India, a canvas of New York!

About Photowall:

The idea of Photowall was born in 2006 when brothers Niklas and Charlie Johansson realized that the
selection of personalized wall art on the market was relatively limited. With their technical background
and a strong interest in design, they decided to try something new — printing wallpaper digitally.
Without any previous printing experience, the brothers bought their very first digital printing press in
2006—and Photowall was born! A company focused on quality, creative design, and custom-made
products. Photowall is now an established company with its own factory and offices in Skarpnäck near
Stockholm, Sweden. From the very beginning, it has been driven by the desire to create and constantly
test new ideas.

Hope you shop something for yourself from their beautiful collection of murals, paintings, wallpapers and more. If you do decided to check it out, don't forget to use my code fictitiousfashion2021 to get 25% off valid till 9th July 2021. So hurry up!

Years to LookBack

It's been 5 years since I've started blogging and the journey has been quite amazing. This isn't a 'blogging-has-taught-me-so-much' moment, although it did! But, I just wanted to look back at all the fabulous pictures and tried to recall the fun I had during the photoshoot. So in this post I'll be sharing the amazing moments and what I love about that outfit :)

Sit back and relax!

The first time I wore a lipstick. Gosh! I was so nervous as I know nothing about makeup, the right shade or even to wear one but, I did it anyway. It's about feeling good right? So I felt.

I did the basic white and black look here and completed it with two different accessories- a hat and a floral headband.

This was a very sunny day and I sort of regretted wearing those pants (not mine!) so I said to myself, 'Hey! Why not try something new' and so I tied my favorite scarf and voila!

You'd see this sling bag in so many posts. This is undoubtedly one of my favorite bags. It is stylish, light and so useful to carry on a day-out, date or a party.

I asked my friend who is a photographer, to click some nice pictures for my shopping haul. We went out to Carter road, Bandra and had a blast while shooting it; never-mind the sun!

My favorite thing about this outfit was the blue canvas shoes. They are my brother's but I gave a twist to it by going lace-less ;)

Goa is so much fun with friends! We danced to Lean On, partied under the stars, sun-bathed at Candolim beach and kept ourselves hydrated with watermelon & kiwi juices!

I finally found a reason to wear crop tops and my leather shorts (in India). I had worked so hard to prepare a toned body for Goa and the results were truly fruitful.

This outfit is again from Goa Diaries. The sun was upon us but hey, it's always great for photoshoots!

I hadn't wore this magnificent dress for like-ever. With my body in shape and at the right place, I took out my floral headband and let my hair down. It felt so airy and light in this piece of maxi-dress.

My last academic farewell was so emotional and fun-filled. Click on the picture above to read more :)

I'd have to say, I had not gained as much as eye-balls 'in college' as I did that day when I wore this nude-colored elegant piece of jumpsuit. My first, yes!

At last, the bidding goodbye to Mumbai pose. This picture was taken at Worli Sea Face. I loved everything about that day, the weather, fresh air and my natural waves.

I have to admit, I have so many blues but this kind of blue sets my mood high: such a paradox! This romper glides over my skin so well and the lacework is just so splendid.

I love to organize my photo albums with nice and customized designs. Look how I created my own lookbook for Social Print Studio's custom photo books.

Waiting for your views.

The Striking One

Hello all

I'm feeling good these days. No reason, just like that. Isn't it nice to NOT think about reasons & not justifying your happiness to someone? I, for one, do feel it's good to be on your own and do what suits you the best.

Just last few months in Mumbai and I'll be off to my hometown. The biggest thing Mumbai has given me is Independence. I know many of you would resonate with this feeling. There are many reasons why I still prefer Delhi over Mumbai but I have to face the truth; if it weren't for Mumbai, I wouldn't have had the courage to face the '@#@DW@$%^' of life. I also thank it for not having winters but loathe rains! I know I've said it many times, but it kind of grows on you. **Rains bleh**

So we were out in the mall, buying gift for a friend when suddenly I just wanted some pictures for my beloved blog. It was a long time and it deserved some action :)

This top is my favorite from my New York trip- H&M all the way. I have worn it with white, red, yellow, pink and ofcourse black pair of pants: It just goes with everything!

So enjoy my post while I'm off to watching Despicable Me. Have you seen it? How did you find it? Let me know :D

Sunny in Central Park

When we officially came New York, there was no looking back. We just had one plan: EXPLORE!

On our first official day, we went to Central Park. The park is beautiful to see, sit and sleep (haha). On one side you see families playing while on another, people getting tanned, eating, sleeping, running. Well yea, running! They run all day, all the time.
Also, saw the WTC and walked across the brooklyn bridge on a cold night.

I loved each and every moment and I can't tell enough of how beautiful the city is.

For now, see the pictures and you'll know what I'm talking about.

New York: Part I

Well, what can I say about my dream city. It was fun, friendly & fashionable.

Before reaching Boston, we took a stop at New York where we stayed in Crowne Plaza, Times Square. That is just like living in the heart of New York. It was fun-filled 24*7. Like literally!

On Day 1 we went to Times Square, obviously ;)  I couldn't believe my eyes that I was standing at the place which I've only seen in movies. Seeing the tall buildings, billboards, jumping for space on the iconic electronic screen and what not. I thoroughly enjoyed myself throughout my stay at NYC.

We went to the Rockefeller center, not the top though. The garden is beautiful. I found the cute pink ducklings a little odd for that place but who cares, they looked like flowers at first glance.

The day went by exploring the nearby places as we were planning to come back with the bang after our Boston visit.

Places to eat at in New York

We had dinner at Pizza by Bay, Times Square - must try garden pizza and minestrone soup.

This was the first day I realized that the quantity of ANY type of food in the states, is TOO much for an average foodie.

*Heavy write-up below*

The New York streets are so confusing. It took us three days to understand what is what. So first-time-travelers-to-new york. Listen up!

As you go uptown, street numbers increase. Average distance between each pair of streets is 60m. Avenues and streets run in perpendicular direction. If you are at 42nd street 7th avenue and you want to go to 42nd street 8th avenue (you see street numbers increasing/decreasing on your right) then just walk straight ahead. Eh? Confusing. Just keep in mind that avenues and streets dissect each other.
Broadways are easier to remember because they cut streets and avenues diagonally. They are the shortest route to a path.
So here I told you about new york streets and avenues. Wait up while I tell you where to eat, shop from and have fun!

MIT Boston: Part II

Hey dolls

I'm back with a new post. It feels so good to re-live the USA memories; even though they are still fresh in my head. Did you know I'm a HUGE FAN of the people over there? Ah! I can't stress on it enough.

You know the most loveliest things that happened to us was this: All of us clicking pictures and while it happened, a gorgeous couple just bombarded our picture. Next thing you know, they are apologizing like anything! They not only asked us if they could click our pictures, but also guided us on our way back to the hotel at night! What a show!!! Oh and, this story is from New York. What can I do, the only conversations we had in boston were highly intellectual ;)

The third day brought some relief to the ever chilly weather. Sun, flowers and the Harvard Business School campus. It is by far the best campuses I've ever seen. Beautiful garden, huge dining area, spectacular bunch of crowd. I just loved the day.

Anyway more stories coming up. Lots of posts come. Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures and don't forget to stay tuned for my next post. Would be telling where to eat and visit in Boston.

Enjoy the pictures and let me know what you think in the comments below :)

Which outfit do you like more?

The last day at Boston was a slow one. With us, just relaxing next to river Charles. It is a beautiful place to jog or do some photography. We did the latter :D

First of all the best time to visit Boston is in mid April-August. It is slow-paced, unlike New York which doesn't stop. You can relax here, get into intellectual debates, startle over the heritage buildings or drink hot chocolate at Harvard Square.

So here's a list of places you should visit while you're there. *These are strictly my choice and the places we visited.

MIT Museum
Charles River
Harvard University
Park Street- For Chapels, shopping, food and more
Harvard Square

Places to eat at while in boston

Au Bon Pain
Sebastians for pasta
Legal Sea Foods
La Burdick for hot chocolate

MIT treats

Until next time
Keep Smiling
