Blue Stripes Dress: Zaful

Hello people

I'm back with a sunny post for you guys. Right before taking these pictures, my mom brought this pretty sunflower home. I was like, let's use it as a prop and brighten up my pictures :)

I had many apprehensions before wearing this dress. My parents told me, it looks like a teen's dress while my brother said, I look like the kid in the dress! I was so in love with the dress that I decided to wear it anyway. This blue stripes cotton dress from Zaful was so pretty and I requested them to send it as early as possible. When it arrived, first of all, it was exactly as it was in the pictures. Second of all, the cute cotton belt was really giving me ideas right and left on ways to tie it.

Agreed, I looked a bit younger than I already look for my age. But, once I tied the belt at the back; things changed. Take a look at the 6th picture. Would wear it again for a winter look. With white leggings and an overcoat? How you would wear it? Let me know in the comments below.

Here are 5 tips on wearing cotton dresses:

1) At the beach- The perfect place to wear them if you don't plan to go near the water with the dress on! Wear it with those cute platform flip-flops, a loud cotton tote-bag (picture below- an old one), and sunglasses/hat. If your dress is solid colored then you can also tie a colorful scarf around.

2) Party- Yes! Break the rules and live a little. If you feel extremely comfortable in cotton dresses (like me? Please drop me a mail & Hi5) then by all means go ahead and wear them. But be a little dramatic and wear a classic burgundy, brown, and the likes, lip shade. If it's a little cooler outside then it's a perfect way to add a leather jacket on it. If not, let your hair down, do some awesome make-up, carry a nice hot colored clutch and rock it.

3) 80s Fashion- As I said above, I would wear it with white leggings and throw in a ribbon over my head and turn it into a bow. I'd probably want to wear soft curls on my hair. If you're feeling a little more Yale (read Blair- Gossip Girl) then a white lace jacket and some pearls would look really neat.

4) Fusion- You know what would be really innovative? Wearing a crop top or a nice top over your cotton dress. Some nice sneakers and a backpack (optional), you're so owning this look.

5) Prop it- If you have a belt like mine then I already told you two ways to wear it. There's one more way to do it which I've never tried but would love to see if anyone has. If there's any chance to hide those belts by folding and pinning it, do that. Add another belt, maybe a metallic one. You can also leave the belt as is and wear a grey cardigan over it.
If belt is not the issue with your dress then I strongly recommend wearing a great belt and experimenting with its placement- empire, mid or low. I love wearing bandanas and still wear them (sometimes for work).

I hope you enjoyed the post. Check out my previous post if you missed reading my Mumbai rants and another cotton dress I wore. This time it was sequined, printed and maxi!

P.S. Next time, a special post would come. If everything is ready, then watch out for my next post :)

Until next time

Bluemia

Hi Friends

Fictitious Fashion wishes you a very Happy Holi. Today Holi is celebrated across India with colors and sweets. On the occasion of colors, I'm wearing this beautiful blue dress that I have been holding (read: hoarding) in my closet for months now. Maybe I was waiting for my body to achieve this state?
Girls, please be honest with me: Does looking this slim is weird or fine? (Let me know if you have better words). I'm trying to be fit & happy but instead losing fat from undesirable places (>_<) Help me people!!!

On totally other note, I had not worn heels for a long time because of my sprained ankle on my flat foot. These babies are so versatile and comfortable (if someone knows hot walk in heels) that I just can't stop thinking about outfits to wear them with. So I decided to pair them with my hoarded dress and keep the rest of the look simple.

This dress from Zaful can be worn when thinking of elegance. The color is so royal and material so good that it reminds me of the time where royal blue was my go-to color.

Guys, BTW, Mr. A is back ;) So we went out for a beautiful day ahead of us.

Enjoy the rest of the post

What to wear with Palazzo Pants: Shorter Stature Girls

Hello Sweethearts

I'm back with a brand new Outfit post. So many this June :D and more to come

Here I'm shamefully admitting and wearing for the first time- Palazzo pants

For years I thought pants like these would make a short-stature me, a plump. But then I thought to myself, I'm a fashion blogger, I must use some tips and tricks to comfortably wear one and so I wore.

Tips on how to wear Palazzo pants- Shorter Stature

Choosing the right length of Palazzo pants

 1. Choose ones that end at or below ankles. Consider covering the ankles for leaner effect.
2. Choose solid colored over prints but if you must then try uniform prints like I'm wearing.

What to wear with Palazzo pants

1. Crop tops that end just above the midriff.
2. Do not wear tops & blouses over the pants as it would definitely make you look even shorter.
3. If crop tops are not your thing then pick a base color from the pants and wear them tucked inside the pants.
4. Layer if necessary.
5. High Heels for the high life ;)

Enough of the gyaan. It's show time!

Me getting irritated when brother was taking more time to click!

These are not your high-end chiffon Palazzo pants that are easier to pair with. These are made of pure COTTON. It took me a day to figure out what I'd wear with these and a white shirt is how far I could come. Then I realized I could do something with a stole I bought from Lajpat Nagar (INR 50) and voila- one shirt, belt, scarf and four hours later- this is me <<appearing tall>>

You would think I'd have stopped by now

Birthday Girl's Day Out

Hello Everyone :)

So my Birthday was on 13th August and I had so much fun :D

First I went for a full body spa (my first) to Blue Terra. The ambiance is great, massage great, other services great. In the end they offered green tea and nuts for a full healthy treat ;)

Next I went on to ruin my face and hair! LOL. I watched The Conjuring and it was the first Horror movie I watched simply cos I don't wanna give myself hurt marks on the skin and brain. It was pretty good. Oh hell.. it was Awesome!

It followed with a hearty meal at Geoffrey's. The evening was reserved for parents and so it begun by my traditional cake-cutting with family, dinner at Haldirams (I thought of taking everyone out some place else but everyone gave a united thumbs-up to haldirams so yea :)) and finally the day was over :)

Here's what I wore on my B-Day. Weren't able to click many pics cos I reached at dusk. Nevertheless, I did what I had to do. Clicked more pictures the very next day in a different pair of shoes. Lemme know how you find my outfit :)
